Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

At the moment I'm just doing lots of races of different distances without taking any of them very seriously. I have the Trafford 10k and Oakley 20 mile race before Wilmslow. So I'm doing very random training. It's quite relaxing, really.

Absolutely.

I'd vaguely wondered about staying in Wilmslow all afternoon as I'm booked on a train to London that changes there later on. But I think on second thoughts going home and getting changed after eating might be better than drinking all afternoon and then getting onto the train covered in dried-up sweat.

jolguk - skip the shower and enjoy a carriage all to yourself ;)

Homer - I'm never very good at running less than full power but I'll try to avoid a sprint start or finish. In theory 2 weeks should be enough to recover from anything bar injury. I'm more concerned about breaking myself skiing.

"The Italian near the Fire Station"....do you mean Felicini, Homer? I work in Wilmslow and had a cracking meal in there with the girls from work a few weeks ago. Yummy food! :)

Homer I think that as long as you're fit a steady HM will be good for you. I guess that you could always run it at your target marathon pace.
