Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

a nice relatively flat course then - great!! - I am so used to training on undulating terrain and have been in quite a few races with hills that it will be a refreshing change! I hope! Long runs are typically about 13km at the moment and weekly kilometerage is about 27km (doesn't have quite the same ring to it as mileage but the GPS tracker app on my phone does everything in km so I'm stuck with it as a unit of distance) so looking to build it up over the coming months, happy training everyone and good luck!! :) :)

Steve - your targets at 4 villages and Wilmslow are same as mine so hopefully we can pace each other for a bit (although I thought you did an ok time at Stockport 10 that would indicate a falf a lot faster than 1:40??) See you at Helsby anyway :-)

Jonesy - if you are used to undulating and hills Wilmslow will present you no problems - its the fact the hill is just around mile 10 when you are tiring rather than the size or steepness that seems to cause problems

BVB & Pato - my targets at both Helsby and Wilmslow are also very similar to yours. I'm hoping for about 1.37ish at Helsby and then sub 1.35 at Wilmslow.

Pat I think you're right - I reckon a 1.38 Helsby is possible. Pacing is a good idea- I did five miles with Homer in Helsby 2009. So yes, I'm up for it :-)

Steve - see you in Helsby :-)

Nelly - 1:37 is probably just a bit too fast for me at the moment, but feel free to join Steve and I for a few miles if you want to, but I'm hoping for s serious sub 1:35 attempt at Wilmslow (I've just missed 1:35 twice in previous halfs - one of them being Wilmslow)

Pato - I'm not sure if 1:37 is also a bit too fast for me currently, but I aim to give it a go. I may join you a few miles at the start to judge how I'm feeling.

Nelly, you're crap at predicting your own half marathon times ;-)

You're not wrong BVRB... I didn't have total time showing on my Garmin just lap time, so although I knew I'd PB'd, I was very surprised when I finished and looked at the time! Now I'm just hoping to repeat the same time at Wilmslow.
