Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

For many insane reasons I've not done Wilmslow before, really looking forward to it. Before anyone questions the price, it's not a profit race, the dish goes to the organisations (cubs etc...) that help out.

Can't wait! ;-)

Hi Sprouts, yes just done Stockport 10 so I guess an extra 3 miles is do-able (even tho' Stockport crucified me by mile 9), got 12 weeks to train, just finding getting back into it hard after all the gluttony and sloth of the festive season!! :)

Wilmslow doesn't have anything like the 2 big climbs that Stockport has - there's a short, sharp shock around mile 11 which is the main thing to be aware of, I'd say. You'll be fine once you start working off the mince pies :)

Wilmslow was the first half I did, in 2009 having only done 10kms up til then - I'd only really got up to doing 10 miles in training by the time Christmas came around and I managed it fine, if slowly.

Wilmslow is a good race, have done it 12 times, - as sprouty says the only shock is the climb at mile 11, when obviously if you are like me you are damn tired, but its doable and the race has something going for it if I am entered for a 13th time!!!!!!!!!!!

It's just about last orders for online entries as nearly full. After that it will just be club runner entries as incorporates English HM Champs

Wilmslow was my first half too. Many years ago! I remember it being quite a pretty race.

I'm looking forward to Helsby, just hope it's not as wet as Stockport!

I'm doing Helsby as well, not done that one before and definitely falls outside of my usual 2 Halves a year rule. But then I'm doing a marathon as well this year, so my rules have gone out of the window anyway

Hoping to make Helsby my first sub 1.40 since June 2009.

Wilmslow - I'm aiming for sub 1.35.

I'm hoping 2012 is the year I avoid injury and illness so I can run proper times again. Running owes me some luck, 2012 is payback year :-)
