I normally wear Asics Gel Nimbus, but have spotted a bargain pair of Gel Cumulus. Is there much difference between them?

Have used both for long runs and marathons with no problems and to be honest can't tell the difference. I would and have bought on price.

Was in sweatshop recently and have worn a few pairs of Nimbus. Had a look at the cumulus they felt a lot heavier.

I've never had nimbus but I only got about 100 miles out of a pair of Cumulus because they felt so big and bulky. They felt so clumpy that I didn't even relegate them to gym shoes, just washed them and put them on ebay :)

I asked in Sweatshop the other day and it seems Nimbus do have more cushioning, and gel in both the front and heel of the shoe. The Cumulus have less in the heel.

just for info, I ran in cumulus 12, needed new shoes, the latest version is the 17, couldnt get on with them at all. Padding in the toes too thick for me. ended up with sore hip? seem heavier too. Gone back to running in old shoes while looking for replacement. anyone want a bargain?

I've been in New Balance 1080s for the last 3-4 years. I think I'm pretty shoe agnostic, but if I do find some I like, I tend to stick to them.

I do struggle to get the New Balance sometimes and always look for last year's model.

I tried the asics gel pulse 7 as an alternative, but they didn't seem to have enough cushioning on the soles!

Got something to say?
