Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Anyone up for a swimmy challenge?

I'm rapidly losing the motivation to do anything other than sitting on my backside, I really need a challenge to get me moving again. Since I've swum just over 90 miles so far this year, i'd like to make it a swimmy challenge, and hopefully get my swim total over 100 miles for the first time.

I know there are a lot of swimmers on the site, so I was wondering if anyone would like to join me in a race? I'll try and keep it similar to the FishEveryone challenge we tried to run a few years ago, only hopefully it will work better this time.

My idea is to swim a 1km time trial in the next week (before 9th December), then train like hell for a few weeks, then swim another TT in w/c 11th January. Any improvement will be measured as a percentage of your original time, so it's not just about who can swim the fastest, but who can reduce their time the most.

Any takers?

Luiz, not a fish myself but SCOOBATRON swims over a mile 'every day' in our Olympic sized pool - he's not human! Might be worth f-mailing him to see if interested. I know he doesn't logon too often so might miss this thread otherwise.

Also, it is probably worth flagging to the people in the other swim threads. They might need a help to reach their 2009 totals aswell and a good start to 2010.
