I don't *need* to know, I just don't want to make this worse. 15 months of PF is boring and I don't want to do anything I shouldn't be doing. I also don't want to be a poof hopping round on crutches if it's ok.

Where does the 2 weeks thing come into it? I can't pay privately..... I saw an NHS specialist a fortnight ago who has requested a scan which he said would probably take a couple of months.

I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to do with this foot any more. I think I will just call GP on Monday.

Ok. Well I hope it doesn't feel like this for the whole 2 months. I read it's supposed to be immobilised if it's ruptured but u can't find out it's ruptured. Hmmmm. I didn't mind waiting 2 months when I could walk but now I can't put my foot near the floor it ain't so good.

hmm. if it hurts THAT much (and it sounds as though it does) then surely you will want to immobilise and non-weight bear anyway?

if it improves in the next couple of weeks, that will be a sort of answer.... if it doesn't then..... that's a different sort of answer. (I am sympathetic, honest. more focussed on reducing your stress about it over the next few days while you work out if you can pay for a scan)

I'm not weight bearing on it.......and can't pay for a scan, so yeah, just ride it out for a while then I guess. Just not really sure how to immobilise it or whatever. Hoping it just fixes itself

Keep off the damn foot, Gymfreak. Swallow your pride and dig out the crutches. And take something for the pain.

If I were your GP, I might be persuaded to 'phone your orthopod and ask if they could please please please intercede with the MRI department because you've got much worse very suddenly. But, as Cabletow says, your best course of action would be to see a specialist privately. Even then, if your PF *is* ruptured there won't be a quick fix, it'll be rest and rehabilitation.

Seeing an out-of-hours GP over the weekend would be pointless. A&E would probably be almost as pointless if you have crutches already - you're likely to be seen by a clueless jobsworth SHO/bone idle orthopaedic registrar and told to go to your GP for a referral.
