I might leave you a jelly baby, if you ask nicely!

Most of the freebies are tat frankly. You'll only end up wondering why you are wasting energy lugging them across town on the tube. Get your number, maybe a VLM tee/hoody, a plate full of pasta then head to your digs and put your feet up for the afternoon. JD. Question. Stopping in Vauxhall, what's the journey time from Vauxhall to Greenwich on the tube anyone? |

Marathon Expos should be optional. They are a right pain in the **** to get to.

Pootle I managed to get 2 exit goodie bags by going out for the loo and going back in! Once I was asked for my number to prove (?) I was a runner, the 2nd time it was just thrust into my hand. The RW rucksack is a purchase - mine was £10 but came with a load of goodies in worth more than £10. Mine's now broken so not a great rucksack either. I didn't manage to find many freebies apart from the lucozade I was given for being a super sixer with spinkles (I got pounced on!) The expo is part of the experience but the deals are less than they were (sign of the times) I went friday about 11 and walked straight in and got my number with no queue |

Greenwich isn't on the tube -- North Greenwich is but that's no good for the VLM start. You want to get an overland train to Greenwich, Maze Hill or Blackheath. Probably Vauxhall to Waterloo then a train from Waterloo East is your best bet. 30 mins should cover it easily.

I went incognito to avoid the pouncing. I knew that moustache would come in handy. I didn't grab many bargains or freebies - but I did bump into Steve the Marathon Coach from RW. Who is a Nice Bloke. |
