Anyone know details on the Marathon Expo?

Hi, Does anybody have any details on the Marathon Expo for VLM2011....does everyone really have to attend to pick up their numbers??? I\'ve done a few google searches and couldnt really find anything, aprt from at ExCel and I think during week and Saturday before Marathon. Thanks |

Yes, like most other big city maras you have to go to the Expo to get your number. They will not post them to you. This year the Expo ran from Excel in Docklands from the Wednesday to the Saturday before the race. |

It doesn't have to be someone running, anyone can attend the expo. They just need to have a letter from yourself and a copy of some ID and they can get your number for you. I picked my brothers up in 2008 with a letter from him and a photocop of his passport.

The Penketh Runner
The expo is my only real gripe about the London Marathon. It's not the easiest place to get to and is rammed busy (full of non-London resident runners). I'm glad i've managed to get a city centre hotel this year. But on the other hand it is 100x better than the Zurich Marathon Expo. |

I loved the expo, it was all part of the marathon "experience" for me. Came away with more freebies that you could shale a stick at, too (not the top, or the knife block though!) sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net I'll probably go again this year even though I am not running. Hopefully there will be no volcanic ash cloud this time and more of the stands will be manned, too! |
