It looks like I will not be able to earn for a while due to illness. I thought I look up what I am entitled to to distract myself.
I have worked free lance, on a low income, since 2014 so a solid track record. Calculators keep saying your income is higher than a person under your circumstances needs. I am unable to work = no future income. How does that work?

If possible I’d try and book a visit to a CAB is the only help I can offer, I’m afraid.

Second shout for CAB - they mostly deal with stuff by phone so you don’t have to trek into a town for an appointment. We find them very, very helpful for our foodbank clients with benefit issues

I don't know anything about this but a check on the CAB website makes me think you might be entitled to Employment and Support Allowance. It says you can be entitled to ESA if you're self employed....

I would be damned annoyed if you were entitled to no help through no fault of your own, especially when some people have never worked a day in their and gets everything handed to them on a plate.
Rest up and get well soon. X

I cannot get UC. This is all I can get! The self employed equivalent to SSP. I could never afford to insure myself for situations like this.
