For my PMP of 6:45 for London and Abingdon this year I did the Wednesday runs at about 7:30 pace. Sunday long runs were typically a bit slower (7:45 on average) but every 2nd or 3rd one was progressive (apart from the couple of times when the wheels came off - they were also progressive, but in the wrong direction!)

Thanks Matt, I'll be doing those sort of paces too, sunday will be a bit slower as I'm normally off road on the North Downs. Although I guess I should try and get some road runs in too.

Question P&D folks...
the later part of the schedule has the tune-up races with and LSR on Sunday.....do you just swap them or do you shuffle the week around?

Homer - Personally i will be swapping them around from time to time to suit. IMO its only a plan and not set in stone.

Thanks Peacey. I'm usually pretty good and movig shedules but sticking to the concept....but 17 miles the day after a 10k race seems much different from the other way around?

Homer - I try to stick to the plan but im sure there has to be a level of flex in the plan. Personally (and i might get shot down for it!) i will be doing the weekly session but in what order depends on my races/lifestyle. Its too difficult to stick to the plan 100% of the time.
