I've managed to cut out all cold calls by not bothering to plug a phone in when we moved into our new house 6 months ago (although it's neatly hidden near the master socket in case of emergency). I don't even know what our landline number is.

When driving in summer with the windows open i've been known to bluetooth the phone to the car then repeatedly google the word testicles with the sound up.

I nearly managed this once when J had dropped me off and and I walked back past her in traffic, she drove off before the word 'reproductive' could sneak across the ether.

Those text readers in cars are great. When I know the GF will be driving with passengers, I send her texts that will be amusing when read out by the car.

Cf. the conformity thread, I prefer to cross the road away from crossings, especially in countries where this is forbidden, unless my children are with me. Creative road-crossing is one of civilisations greatest freedoms and laws preventing are prime example of unnecessary legislation impinging on civil liberties.

+1 here on road crossings.

When in the Deep South, I asked the car rental place for the smallest vehicle they had.

I also drove around a military installation in Alabama with the windows down blaring out Firestarter by the Prodigy at full volume.

Depending on their reaction, that one could have escalated to major dissent...

In a virtually empty cinema Mr Lemon and I watched The Hateful 8 from the premier seats instead of the regular seats we had paid for. I am one to follow any rules to the letter and felt deeply uncomfortable about it for a good hour, while Mr L was totally at ease with this sort of behaviour.
