I read Mark Thomas's book whilst we were in Lanzarote this year, and really enjoyed it.

Today, when the Tesco man asked me to sign in the box to accept my delivery, I drew a little house instead.

I often just put 01 on web forms that ask for my phone number if I don't think they should have it

For years, when visiting one of my major customers, I always signed in as a different Australian Test cricketer. I must have got away with it 25 times before the receptionist came over the tannoy asking if "Merv Hughes could move his car please"

If I'm asked to prefix my name with a title on a document or internet site with no importance I plump for 'Professor' or 'Doctor'

"Look at the price of that!" said my colleague when we were flicking through the computer screen trying to choose the most suitable alternative to an unavailable medication for one of our patients.

"Do you think it'll make the prescribing committee swing their knickers in the air?" I said.

My colleague sniggered as I sent the prescription off through cyberspace to the pharmacy.

I also don't give my number to things when I don't want/think they need to have it. I pop in the 11 digits required, all (except the second two) 0.
