I can't decide if this is a running injury or just something I've done. I was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar.

On the Thursday after a Sunday Half marathon I started to notice a dull ache in the back of my right knee. It's feels deep inside rather than a bruise etc. I had completed a 5k recovery run the day (Wednesday) before and it was absolutely fine when running. I didn't run again until the following Tuesday, this time a tempo 5k, again fine when running. A 5k on Sunday and 10k on Monday were also fine. The ache is there more so when walking but not all the time. It can be fine for hours then it suddenly start aching just when walking across the room. When it's achy, I do limp a bit as I don't feel like I can put my weight on it. The last 2 days, I've noticed that my right foot is quite cold too, though this in not completely uncommon for me as I always have cold feet but my left is OK. These 2 things may be completely unrelated.

Any ideas? Thank you for reading.

Maybe it was a slightly inflamed ligament? I imagine resting it for a while would have helped.
It's probably ok now.

I get that occasionally but don't know what causes it.

Thanks for your replies. I had forgotten about this.

For completeness, I decided to be sensible for once and took 2 weeks off running. And it went. No idea what it was, could well

Doh,,,

Have been a strained ligament. I remember being really frustrated that it only hurt when I was walking, not running!

Got something to say?
