Sub3:30, just wanted to share something with you that happened at a race this weekend. A runner suffered from cardiac arrest (luckily she is ok). Because she was running under somebody else's number, the wrong next of kin/ emergency contact was called. So some poor bugger was worried uncessarily, and there was a delay in getting hold of the real emergency contact, who in fact knew some vital information about the runner who was taken ill. Just wanted to put this out there, for people who aren't bothered about number swapping- there's a reason you're not supposed to do it

I personally wouldn't want to race in somebody else's name, nor would I want somebody else running as me.

I've never taken somebody else's number and the only time I've given away a number for a race I couldn't do was when they allowed an official swap. I know some people think I'm just being lame, but I thought this was a very good example of why it shouldn't be done
