the first one was 15 seconds further on that my garmin said! The others were all a bit further but CBA to work it out. In the end it was 0.2 miles longer than my garmin. I am not saying the course is long but if my garmin measures long then I surely need two garmins (both of which will prob measure long) but so that I can program differnt things into them!

Helen - The course is measured and permitted by UKA. Garmins are not accurate. Thanks to Blister for the following explaination ""I understand that the computer chip in all the GPS units is the same one, the satellites are in the same place for everyone at the time of the run, and therefore the mathematical errors are going to be the same. If I look into the boring screens I can see the position error that the GPS has calculated. It can be 30m. Even at best a 10m error every mile will add up over the course of 26.2 miles to be (guess what?) en axtra 0.2 miles.""

Personally, I've never run with a Garmin and I never would. If you try running enough without it your ability to judge pace / distance will become natural.

Actually the GPS errors will not be the same for everyone, but the but the differences would usually be small enough to be insignificant.

LOTTL, I wasnt doubting your measurement, was just saying that my garmin measured the course long so was actually saying that my garmin was wrong, sorry if it came accross as critising you.
