Right calf randomly seized up this morning on the way into work (3rd time it's done that in as many weeks)
Taper madness indeed!

I am experiencing the full gamut of taper madness. I now have sore joints and every last run has been a struggle to maintain pace, there;s the fear of peaking too soon as I had my blinding HM and 20m runs about 3/4 weeks ago. I've lost my gloves, my camelbak bladder is leaking, my socks have ripped.
I then got up and read SarahL's blog. NOt a good idea until next Monday I'd say. Also starting to feel a weight of expectation as training has gone so well. I must remember my PB is 4:24, and anything near 4 hours would be a huge improvement.
Arghhhhhhhhh! Will the course be shorter due to the credit crunch? Surely a mile isn't worth what it used to be?

I know exactly what you mean Lums - I could have written that post myself.
My last long runs were so good, and yesterday didn't feel half as good and....
And I'm not sure whether Sarah's blog has terrified me, inspired me, or reassured me - going through that and still coming through the other side...

Glad it's not just me feeling everything has gone a bit pear-shaped recently! Horrible 8 mile run yesterday, headache, feeling lethargic and having trouble getting up the hills yesterday as breathing was so crap. Feel all sluggish and fear of overeating has set in. Also had first marathon anxiety dream last night!!

Sarahs run was sadly affected by the weather.:(
Our run this week will hopefully be free of very HOT weather. What i am certain we can all do is to try and arrive at Abingdon as rested as possible, fed well, hydrated and as positive as nerves will allow.

Weather.co.uk says light rain (60% chance of) and 14 degrees. I can cope with that:-) The days either side are both dry too - so fingers crossed!
At least its not looking as if it will be hot.
