(Sings) "Springtime, for OB and Windermere".

I'll only do it if it's nice scenery, and what are the chances of that, eh?

Think I might actually make this my first. Forward planning, but can anyone help with a training plan please?

Hal higdon's training plan was very good for me, SF. I think I did intermediate 1. I know other people who swear by the cool runnings schedules though so could be worth comparing the two.

Thanks OM, will have a look at them, I have loads of time, but good to start getting some miles in.

I used Hal Higdon's novice plan for my first, SF, and it was manageable and got me round successfully. I use his plans for most of my races, whatever the distance. I'll be doing the Intermediate one for this, I think, as I'd like to get round a bit quicker this time! Plenty of time, as you say, you can build up a good endurance base - but slowly, so you don't injure yourself :-)

I think I may well be tempted to do this again as I got my marathon pb at Abingdon in 2006.

So it will be two marathons for me again next year. Only two weeks now before starting marathon training for London. It's nice to know that I am in for certain, so I can prepare properly this time. I think I will used Hal Higdon's Advanced II schedule for FLM and if that works, I'll use it again for Abingdon.
