I do like both but would never have thought about both together being nice?

Well, the challenge is set for you then!

I've even been drinking decaf ones in the evening where the harshness of the decaf beans doesn't become a problem as much.

My friend got some very nice decaff the other day we experimented with with an aeropress. Neither of us had ever used one. A very smooth drink and the first time I thought: I'd drink that!
Will check tomorrow what it was and buy some myself. They do beans...

Aeropress is brilliant isn't it. So simple, easy to clean, and the coffee that comes out of it is so reliably "tasty". My wife drinks Kenya AA from Tesco, but at an obscenely weak ratio of coffee to water (think around 1/8th or 1/10th of "normal" strength for people who drink ground coffee of some sort). And even she noticed the very first time she drank a cup how much nicer it was than the cafetiere she normally uses.

I used to get a very, very nice decaf from Starbucks of all places; they did a decaf Sumatra which, to my mouth, was almost indistinguishable from the "real thing". I've got a bag of SF Bay decaf at the moment which is nice enough, but a bit acid / bitter (I know they are oppositesin coffee terms, but my descriptive language isn't very good!). One of the reasons I got a new grinder was so I could switch beans / grind size around rapidly, so I'm hoping I can get a bit nicer cups of coffee out of the SF Bay decaf with a bit of playing around with temperatures, ratios, grind sizes etc.

The one my friend has definitely needed fine tuning!

Waitrose own brand does an acceptable decaf. Had it after lunch at a friends the other day...

The Waitrose own brand is the best decaf I have found so far.

And, so I was told, good value... Must buy some when I am next there because I am rather partial to a post lunch espresso to get the digestion working without the need for a siesta.

Masala coffee today at my local Indian cafe. Bit weak but hit the spot with brekky - egg dosa. 😋😋😋

Non-tea drinker here and nowhere to talk about the caffeine bean, so I thought I'd start a thread. ...
