Has everyone one else got blase (acute) about getting 80%? Managed to add a couple more in the recent Grand Prix series in Nottingham - 81.26% for 5k and 81.13% for the 10k, both measured courses. I have blogged about the series if anyone is interested.

I just had a dip in training and couldn't get 80%. Finally managed it again at parkrun last Sat: flat course, strong field, bang on 5k if not a fraction short.

Only ever managed it once at 5k and never in a parkrun, so no, not for me. Has to be a fast course and I have to be on form to have a shot at it. Not sure where my next is coming from...

I 'was' blasé about 80% pluses a year or two ago when I'd be disappointed not to get them for my short sprints (100s and 200s) but the 200s fell off first and with an athletic season dogged by injury I've only run one 100 this year. That was almost a PW at.... 79%. I NEED a quicker 100 before the season ends! |

Just wait for a windy day Sharkie, as long as it's in the right direction. My hamstrings twinge at the thought of doing a 100m, anything smaller than a parkrun is very dodgy.

The shorter the distance the higher my WAVAs. And by short I don't mean marathons like 5ks! Your current run is very impressive - all time PBs are fabulous. |

Suppose I shouldn't be too pissed off with my 100 today - first since the start of the season - I've usually run at least 6 by now. One of the coaches pointed out that my ankle ligament is still bruised and a bit 'puffy.' But that's jst excuses. Actually v disappointed with on eof my worst ever times (i'm not saying!) and a 78.19% WAVA. I was going to post on the 70% thread but it felt like cheating when I popped in there. Block start was good but I'd had it by 50m! |

I managed my first ever Saturday/ Sunday 80% double (parkrun/ half). My calves will not forgive me if I ever try that nonsense again |

Son of a Pronator Man
That’s pretty good running 80% in consecutive races. I’d be happy to do it once.
