I couldn't decide between another glass of champagne or heading to my bed. So I've decided to bring a glass of champagne to my bed and read my book for a bit. :-)

Night all, someone let the thread cat out!

my first drunken experience with whiskey can be viewed on tv eery time the mcenro-borg match of 1981 is shown on tv! drinking scotch all night whilst queueing to get in to wimbledon for a match on a very hot day leads to embarassing fainting etc episodes /blush\

Columba - Australia (Sydney- went for 6 months 15 yrs ago)

Yep, sounds lilke you need a day off, CStar.

I should go to bed really. Got distracted by a slightly scary film on telly but it's over now so no excuse.

Night night, lovely people. :-)

OH says I need a day off and has banned me from pr. Not sure whether I might just go anyway. Think it will make me feel better than doing chores will. Am grumpy.

Night all. And good luck to all runners.

Lol at Rosehip's brother. Youngest Son went to Oz for a year, but he did come back. Skint, of course.

Also lol at Som's goodbye pressies. Your work-mates certainly had you sussed!

Grandchild is still awaited. Now 4 days overdue.

((Carp)) - sorry to hear about your bad day, hope tomorrow will be considerably better.

In the discovery of alcohol the generation gap between me and most of the rest of you really shows. For one thing, we were older (uni rather than school-age), and for another it didn't include spirits, which were (relative to other things) far more expensive then than they are now. Never reached the throwing-up stage, nor the can't-remember-a-thing-about-last-night stage, though did reach the need-to-concentrate-really-hard-in-order-to-get-from-one-place-to-another-without-staggering stage.

My children, however, were a different kettle of fish...

Evening. Thank you for the entertaining posts. I've enjoyed reading them :-)
I was a good girl and never showed myself up in drink. That's what I told my parents and I *think* they believed me....

I had a few episodes of drunken behaviour - there was the time I was given a lift home in a police van and then carried into parents living room! So I can't really shout at him too much, but will express my concern and point out the dangers, and use his guilt to get my ironing done.

I was drinking once in Keswick while i was 17 and it was raided by the police for drugs..... my dad was one of the police officers! I was not grounded or anything, my feet just did not hit the ground.

I did not do it again until I turned 18.
