Morning all.

My taper has officially started. I shall commemorate the occasion by going for a run later. :-)

Morning all :) Thanks for all the bunting and lovely blog comments - we had a lovely evening in Beaumaris watching daughter in the Bangor student production of Guys & Dolls. Just got back - popping in to say hi before head off to deliver this talk. Mr AL's blisters are rather spectacular but otherwise no real ill-effects :)

Swim done, very leisurely 1.25km, and pleasant bike ride there and back. Sun is still shining so some cross-training in the garden beckons now :-)

Ninks, has anyone explained the concept of tapering to you? ;-)

Isn't it the period before a race when you can eat as much junk as you want, whilst frantically cramming ridiculous interval sessions between periods of sitting on your ass?

Don't I start having a minor crisis of confidence about now too?

I've just ate two massive flapjacks and a large piece of cake.

I'm not sure if I've trained enough for this marathon. I'm going to do 20 800m repeats at 3k pace of 30secs recoveries tonight. That'll sort me out.

I fancy a family pack of crisps...

LOL at NN's idea of a taper.

Carp, I wanted to call our youngest Angharad, but OH vetoed it. He said his mother would never be able to pronounce it. As indeed she wouldn't have. I suggested she could call her "Ann" but he wasn't having any.

Hard frost first thing, and been cold and windy all day.
