I do slow it down, last year I was doing 9:45 m/m pace for my HM training, I set of around 11 m/m in my marathon training. Been going though the HM points at around 2:25

(((FML))) it is bloody hard. I only managed mine today because I had a proper rest at mile 10, toilet break, took off sweaty top and had pieces 'n jam :-) I tried really hard to convince myself it was only a 10 mile run, but would then do another 5 mile loop, but oopsy, I misjudged the route so it ended up an extra 7.

Well done Star

Why is your Garmin set at 0.5 mile splits? Is it a Scottish thing?

No - it's a 'can't remember how I did that and therefore don't know how to change it back' thing :-)

I must have been doing speed training or something when I was setting it up.

Cheers Bint. I only use my Garmin for first 3 miles to make I don't set off too fast. Then ignore it.

Thanks to everyone who commented, tried run/walk and a lot of things. One thing I haven't tried is going for a HM pb then hoping to survive the other HM. What I call 'suicide bunny' pace!!!

This is my third and last time at London (its getting too expensive - hotels etc) and plan to have fun. I am supporting a great charity (MacMillan Cancer Support) looking forward to Fetchpoint and hopefully meeting some fetchies before and during the run

Nice one AL. We all knew you could do it. Hope your giving Mr AL grief (in a good way) :-)

FML, I was driven to a pub last night that was around 25 miles away, it took ages in the car, it made me realise how bloody far we run. It is a long way but you can do it. Keep the faith.
