FML - I totally empathise. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. I had an even worse run than you today (binned a 20 miler at 6 miles) even though I hoped at the beginning that I'd be able to push through. It didn't happen. Now we need to rest up, eat and drink well, and put today behind us. We'll be fine.

bunting for DQ, commiserations for long run peeps who didn't quite make it, I can imagine bodies start to rebel a bit at this stage of marathon training!
I did my intervals. They were horrid. A little old lady gawped at me. I encountered The Wall halfway through the 4th rep. Well, more like a small garden wall than a marathon wall, but my legs chucked a big tantrum so I had to walk for 10 seconds :) Then I finished and had to walk a mile home cos my legs refused to work after that!
Where has Formerly gone? I miss his cheeky face.

Two really hard sessions back to back there Fleecy, your legs probably thought that after the impressive 10 mile tempo they did yesterday they didn't deserve to br hammered by an interval session! All good training in the bank though.

buntingDQbunting :-) Well doone, missus (shame about the wine though)

Well done to all runners and racers over the weekend whether you had a good day at the office or not. The bad runs are as important as the good ones and at least you got out there!

Well said Bint. I ran a slow 11 miles today and was a little disappointed until I realised I had run 19 miles in 2 days and I have never done that before :)

Yep...sometimes you need to think about what you've achieved and let the "failures" be part of the experience.
