18miles this morning got cut short to 15 as I spent that much time cowering under hedges trying to hide from the worst rain storms, that I ran out of time to complete the distance (had belated Valentines Lunch reservation I decided wouldn't be appropriate to turn up soggy, sweaty and sprayed with road gunk)
Sooo this afty read up a bit about splitting long runs and did another 5miles this evening bringing me up to my first ever 20. [Kinda]
Feeling less guilty about splitting. Some interesting articles online.....

I often split my runs on day 2 of back to back long runs, natty, simply because I have to or I can't fit them round work.

FML upgrade 2.014
Morning

All except one (plus me) of my club VLMers are doing Stamford 30km today, but I felt it was too tough, too long and too soon in my training, so 14 miles planned for me

Morning all :)

I gave my Stamford place away for the same reason FML, I was two or three weeks behind where I'd hoped to be when I entered so I took the sensible option. But I've almost caught up and if I'd known the weather was going to be like this I'd have given it a go :(ar

Tarpley Carp ? (have I asked you that before ?) that was tempting as well - I'd be last by about 10 minutes looking at last years results ( are all the DNFs post 4 hr times do you think ?)
