Macapple - that is rough. Take it easy and keep hydrated. how much time have you got to cambridge?

PaulaMc - New week starts tomorrow. be kind to yourself today.

Didn't fancy it today at all. wet and windy here. Ate my porridge and got out there. Decided on an out and back course - long incline to Barlbourough but expecting it to be easier on the way back. Coming back and i am being buffeted by the wind, feeling miserable and then freddy mercury starts singing in my ear "don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time..." I don't even like Queen! freddy is taking the michael. but it brings a grin to my face and i soldier on. I decide to drop on to the disused railway trail out of the wind. I am flagging now. i can hear footstops coming up behind me. i try to increase my pace a little. Eventually 2 Killamarsh kesterels catch me and begin chatting. they are running 16 miles today in prep for the Grindleford off road race - 22 miles i think - i up my pace to 8.30 mim mile and stay with them for a mile or so before diverting off home. I thank them for their company - they could easily have shot straight past me - I get home and am shattered. 10 miles. Best for the year. result!

Well done to everyone that ran today. I did 2.7 miles run/walk and it was really cold and windy. Glad to get into the warm supermarket at the end.

((macapple)) and ((PaulaMc)) - hope you both feel better soon.

Just time for a bath now before the rugby is on again :-)

oops LD, hopefully the debit card will turn up sooner - Nationwide got one out to eldest in 3 days laast month.

Well done everyone who braved the weather this morning medal That there wind is a roite bugger this marnin'

( sorry, it's the talk of brawn brought Grandpop to mind :) )

I managed 16.5, aimed for the 18 nd tried to trick myself by adding loops at the beginning and in the middle rather than the end - but the middle one was flooded to had to turn back, lost all willpower to do the extra at the end after a stop to isit the school chickens. At least they enjoyed the last of my peanut butter "sandwich" :)

Hope PP and ultraBint are having fun cake

I've done 2 runs today. A shoprt i miler to round up a local goreilla for Fetchpoint. Then I went and did the shopping. New slippers for both Mr GM and me following Harvey's superb training and slipper nickage ability. I also bought my first onesie :-) I'm trying very hard toresist putting it on right now!
Then I went ot the pet shop to buy more bribes so I can get Harvey into his cage when I need to go to work in the morning.
Then I did my 2nd run. It's still windy as a windy place.

That's a good idea RH, loops at beginning or middle rather than end

DbB - I'm not a big Queen fan either, but that song never ever fails to make me smile on a run. It's picked me up from some very low points. Well done on getting the run done.

We are busy here, I'm washing walls and OH is taking down ceiling bits (!) and fixing lights. I got the shopping done.

I reflected on the fact that although I've missed the long run and bootcamp this week I did still manage two commutes home from work, one of which was a good tempo run, and a parkrun, so all is definitely not lost. I'll go to bootcamp tomorrow evening, run home on Tuesday and Thursday, and fit in a couple of core/strength sessions at home. Feeling a bit more positive now.

Well done to everyone who managed to get out in the face of weather or other obstacles. Good going, folks :-)

xx

Hi everyone - well I didn't get blown off my feet - but I didn't PB either :( - missed it by less than 40 seconds - bearing in mind that I ran the first 5k mostly into the wind, and in 28 minutes something, I am pretty amazed that I got even that close!! Chip time 53.33 - I will blog in a bit, it might be a bit epic :) :) (I need to do it justice!)

Great effort al.

Running well at this time of year is a great indicator that you've got a good season ahead as conditions improve.
