Leonora sounds a lovely name, Columba :-) I find breathing in every 3 strokes the most comfortable rhythm. I breathe out almost continually and I find it easiest to do it through my nose but I know others prefer to breathe out through their mouth. The biggest breakthrough for my breathing was realising that i didn't need to kick my legs v. much which meant I didn't get too out of breath.

It's champagne o'clock, cheers everyone!

Off to have my not-very-healthy ready-meal. I am having loads of veg with it so I'm sure that balances everything out :-)

Columba, a West Ham fan cos you will be blowing bubbles, it's West Ham's famous song.

Regarding swimming strokes I go Left, right, breathe, right, left, breathe, etc. if that males sense. I blow out through my nose and mouth on the last stroke before tilting my head to get the air in. And what LN said, I hardly kick and therefore don't get out of breath, the down side of that is you loose speed but you can swim for ever.

That Latterly, she's had every injury going, hasn't she? :) Are you working your way through a checklist of runners' injuries? Cos I think ITB is up next once your calf has healed...

'vning all. Double session today for me. Will be unable to move tomorrow I think. 6M at lunchtime and track this evening. Cold and wet and fun.

Dazed and confused by much of todays posts - ho difficult can it be to breathe?! Don't get this swimming lark at all, but hope you are enjoying it.
