LD - maybe, rather than a parkrun (which might encourage you to put in more speed than would be wise), how about a really gentle run-walk half-mile on your own?

Now I've forgotten who asked about core work; - but there is a core thread on here somewhere, which has loads of useful references in the header.

ಠ_ಠ

My theory is that the ಠ is a letter from a language with a non-European writing system. Arabic, maybe, or Hebrew, or somewhere further east.

Gently does it LD. So are we both suffering the same injury?

Just outing myself as a linguist. It's not Hebrew. It might be Arabic but I don't think so. Not sure what else it could be but I like the theory.

If I were in one of my more obsessional moods I'd trawl through all the google languages. But I'm not. I don't think it looks like Arabic either, Linds; Arabic has a sort of flow to it, can't imagine it would bother with a complete circle and then going back to put a dot in the middle and a flat cap on top.

Ooh, I think JenL is a linguist isn't she? You'll have to get to know her Linds, she's lovely :) She blogs occasionally.

Google sayeth:

ಠ_ಠ, otherwise known as the “look of disapproval,” is a character sequence commonly used as a reaction emoticon to express one’s disapproval or disbelief.
Origin
The unicode character “ಠ” comes from the letter “ṭha” in Kannada, one of the major Dravidian languages of India that is influenced by Sanskrit. Despite its origin, the character has been used as an emoticon primarily outside of India.

Hope the injuries clear up quick everyone. Plenty of easy running helps keep you ticking over, anything fast usually best avoided.

XC for me this afternoon. Apparently someone thought it would be hilarious to run a race in a swamp. I fell over three times, jumped over several other fallers, it was like the grand national....

Apart from that I ran ok. Feel like I'm not running quite as well as I was before christmas, might have put on a few pounds, finding it hard to get a good rhythm. Seems to be coming back very gradually and today will have blown out a few more cobwebs at least.

Bottle of cava to look forward to tonight. :-)
