LD, its not in all honesty :( but it aches afterwards not during. Physio wants me to run & work as normal and report back at the end of the month, he'll then refer me.

Thanks AL, yes I think some personal training may be in order. Our jog leader works at the local gym and pool, I will ask him about putting a session on for the group.

Oh :-( WR. I bet you wish he'd refer you a bit sooner - you've been coping with this for months already now, haven't you?

Yep :(

He would refer me now but he said that some people do get by with this problem, it depends how bad the tear is. He wants me to test it out thoroughly and make a decision at the end of the month.
It's not that painful, just after a run or a hard days manual work it stiffens & swells up (ooh er missus :) ) so I dont have full range of my knee joint.

It's annoying more than anything, it stops me training as I would like to, I think it's inevitable that I'll have to have the op, until then I'll keep doing what I do and take plenty of ibuprofen :)
How are you at the mo LD?

Well I haven't had any swelling since a few days after the tear, and I've done some hard-ish intervals on the exercise bike, and am back to normal hilly rough paths for dog-walking without major ill-effects. However the knee does ache a bit at times, oddly enough in bed seems to be the worst time. I took some ibuprofen this morning but that's the first time for several weeks and was more as an emotional prop really because we were taking the dog for a long walk over rough ground.

Next weekend the 6 weeks no-running embargo is up and I'm planning to bimble very gently round parkrun on Saturday. The silly thing is I'm a bit scared of starting to run again in case it tears again and I'll be out of runnng for even longer.

It must be so frustrating for you LD and WR. Hope you both get back to full strength pretty soon.

And I'm at 46 in the league, finally on target too instead of under! Woo. Aiming for 20 miles next week. Hope you are both better soon LD & MR.
