Be sensible, Linds, or you could end up more injured for longer. That injury bench isn't as comfy as it looks so you don't want to be on it any longer than ncessary, even if you have got a cosy bundle of purple and red striped umbrage to snuggle up with.

Yeah, and it probably won't be long before someone takes the umbrage and then I won't have any snuggles. And hopefully LD will be off the bench soon so it will be lonely. Can't remember who else is on the bench. I will be sensible. After parkrun tomorrow..... ;)

Commiserations Linds :( - if you have a friendly physio I'd go, especially if you can find one who runs. I have road tested my new shoes - they are lovely :)

Evening, everyone - just home after an 11-hour spreadsheetfest. That's not why I joined the civil service! Have I missed owt exciting?

No running again, but I will do parkrun tomorrow, even if I have to get done up like a trawlerman...

Evening all. I've just had a phone call from my GP, x-ray results are in and it's not a stress fracture *big sigh (of relief)*.

Apparently it's insertional Achilles tendinopathy. Advice was to keep running but don't increase load too quickly, eccentric heel drops to strengthen the area and to wear shoes with a reasonable amount of lift - at least until it's recovered.

Excellent news, Molesey. And sounds like a GP who knows about running and runners.
