we're going to be talking knockers all year now aren't we ;)

I don't mind rain once I'm running but find it hard to get out of the door if it's already pouring down

OK. DILEMMA/RUNNING RELATED QUESTION ALERT

DS (Billy Whizz) has decided to parkrun with me on Sat (which is great - it will be his first). I was going to run back as my LSR (11.5 miles in the plan for this weekend - 3 weeks to Watford half). If I do parkrun, come home with Billy (which will take 40 mins) then run from home, do I have to do the full 11.5 or can I do 7.5 then? How long can the non-run bit of my LSR be? Or should i wait till Sunday and do 11.5 then, which will case ructions because of being away from family for a long time on both weekend days.

Advice pls...

Linds - I often have to split some of my runs into two now that I am Ultra training just to get the miles in. If the plan says 14 then I will double commute (my work is 7 miles each way) and there's a whole day of work in between them but they still count as far as I'm concerned.

Just do the 7.5. You'll have done a bit of speed at park run, had a wee rest for 40 mins, then off you go to complete your mileage.

If I were in that position (and I've not followed a training plan properly since I did my first RfL so what do I know) I would do 7.5 after you've dropped Billy Whizz off. However you'd better listen to the advice from others here :-)

Thanks Bint. That's the answer I want. I can't really take the time out to run both days for that length and also I do find the runs over 1.5 hours a bit *whispers* boring whilst 7.5 plus lovely parkrun will make me v happy. And hopefully Billy Whizz too.

Cross posts - glad you agree LD. I don't really follow a 'plan' as I hate speedwork and hills, but I do try to get the miles in in the run up to a half.

Ah Linds I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds anything much over 10 miles boring. It's one of the many resaons why marathons are not for me.

I'm back - glad people liked the blog - it was fun :) - Dooogs I don't play anything (paper & comb?) - I fund-raise - so I look after all the lovely people in the audience who support us with extra donations. They are a lovely bunch of people and I spend most of the pre-concert hour & then the interval chatting & smiling. It was the first concert of the New Year so it felt a bit like the start of a new term. However as I am looking after another group of them at a rehearsal all day Saturday I decided not to stay for the second half.
