Love the finish token Fleecy :-)

I have been busy overhauling bikes all day and then making tablet. Much like a watched pot never boils a watched tray of tablet never cools down.

Fleecy - 1st place in Parkrun, that's impressive (1st place absolutely; or 1st lady?)
way-hay for LindsD's parkrun PB!
RR - a marathon in North Korea - is that wise?

DQ - have a wonderful time celebrating. 39 years married is wonderful, especially these days. OH and I made it to 32. At least we saw all the children into adulthood.

Ev - possibly no more PBs, but a WAVA of over 70 is quite something, and you can maintain - and even improve on - that indefinitely.

AL - agree with you about the porridge; must be 50% milk. Oatmeal porridge might be OK made entirely with water.

Brother went home this morning. Consoled myself by going for a 10-mile run. Further consolation will be indulged in later, in the form of the remains of a bottle of very good white wine.

It wasn't first, Columba, it was 'first' thanks to Philthet :) It was actually 144th place :)
I agree with Columba, Ev, the longer you keep going the less competition you have, 70 WAVA is excellent :)

It's more than I've ever managed.

Though not a lot more; so I still have hopes...

Need advice from some of the London-based runners. Or rather Youngest Son does. He has been suffering from shin splints for several months, tried orthotics, had a couple of sessions with a podiatrist, done all the recommended exercises faithfully, but as soon as he does a parkrun or anything longer the shin splints are back. I said I'll pay for him to see a proper sports physio. He found a sports doctor on line who wants over £200 for a half-hour's consultation, but no way am I paying that, - especially as it would probably be just the start. Does anyone know of anyone?
