Nice choiceof plants Nnks. The Philadelphus is one of my favourites - make sure you plant it near the house so you can smell it on a warm summer's evening as you sit outside with a glass of wine

Morning, everyone. Well done, AL and NN Just entered the VLM ballot - not confident but someone's got to get in. :). Off to the boat in a bit and back home by 8ish - only one (epic navigation fail) run on holiday and only three weeks until the Leeds half so I'd better try to squeeze in some more long runs later this week... |

Sorry I wasn't about to respond to Linds & B about plans *looks guilty* - the plans I followed were the RW ones runnersworld.co.uk - I did the Garmin ready version (although I don't have a Garmin that I could download it to). I think mine was 16 weeks but the first 2 weeks are pretty easy if you are starting from a good base already. I used McMillan to calculate the training paces - although I tend to stick to timed intervals and then work out afterwards whether I did roughly the right distance. I have to say in terms of target times they both delivered - but the mileage is quite high. Particularly the sub-2 version, which builds up the Saturday run a lot.

Morning! I won't be entering the ballot. I won't I won't I won't (though I'm sorely tempted). I just haven't coped with marathon training this year, just can't find the time. So I'm trying to not enter any more marathons. Had a lovely birthday walk yesterday up and around Kinder Scout. Was lovely and finished off the day with a lovely pub dinner. I'm glad to have not run a marathon on my birthday this year, and the OH is glad to have not stood on the streets of London for 7 hours on his birthday this year I got sparkly new trainers \o/ Looking forward to taking them out for a spin later. |

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2014 thread. Here is the groups link: http://www.fetcheveryone.com/groups-view.php?id=1147
All you have to do is run about 1.92 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.
