Well I'm certainly old enough for this thread having turned 65 last weekend
I'm injured again but I don't think it's an age thing (Morton's neuroma). However I have found that getting back to where I was pre-injury has been taking a *lot* longer than in previous years. I wonder if there's any way to speed things up, other than a reverse-aging machine?

It's definitely taking my injuries a lot longer to sort themselves out with each passing year. I'm taking comfort in the fact that at least they do still seem to be healing, even if I have to try and be more patient.

Hi LD.
Now that's something I find HAS changed since turning 60. Obvs it doesn't happen overnight on your birthday but I so agree injuries take a LOT longer to clear up.
Right now I want my tea after a frustrating track session on a lovely evening where all I did was rehab work and two measly 40m strides. At least I got my spikes on (and did THAT feel good!) so there's some progress - but it's oh so slow.
Yes definitely something to discus.

Yeah jabberknit - I'm NOT more prone to injury and like you do heal ... so that's something.

Running for fun is still paramount for me. However I do need an event to focus on to satisfy my competitive instinct - competitive with myself that is. As Mrs AT is not a runner I try and find events in towns/cities/countries that will provide a bit of interest for her as well. This means it is usually a 2/3 day break away, at least, for marathons. Sometimes also for a half if it is somewhere worth visiting. I very rarely do repeat events unless it is the really local ones.

*waves to Macca* How’s your latest holiday?
I’d absolutely love to be a sprinter like you Sharkie, but I literally can’t run fast! I just don’t seem to have the right sort of body and of course my hip (‘me false ‘ip) would rule it out now. I like marathons because they’re a proper challenge - I do shorter stuff but it doesn’t feel the same. I don’t specifically train for them, just rock up and do them. You can’t do that for a marathon.

I need two days recovery between runs now, where one used to be sufficient.
