Well done to both of you. My swimming is decidedly gentle and easy for now, something to do on a day off between various bike races. Not made it as far as a mile yet but may do so next week. |

Brilliant,Jules! All that swimming will come in handy for me as there is a surprise tri on Sat that I have not prepped for at all. Barely biked this year. |

There was a Challenge branded tri in Iceland before Covid that happened no? The swim was super cold, but that’s all I remember about it (goes off to Google it) |

I did an inter-island swim in August that I've recorded as my entry for this. It was billed as a 5k but that allowed for tidal drift, and I managed to swim fast enough that I didn't get pushed too far off course so got from A to B in 4.4km. The qualifier swim was 4.75km. I decided that between the two of them that was enough! It was a great thing to do and helped me get over a mental barrier about open water swimming, but what I learnt from this even was that I don't really have an appetite to go much further than 5k in the open water in future. I'm a pool swimmer at heart. |

That's fab, Hobie. A bit less fab, Little Nemo and Sweetie, but cats and pumpkins aren't meant to like water The challenge isn't going anywhere so you might find another opportunity.

friend of mine just did 10k in the pool she's a lot faster than me but my stupid head did say "I wonder if I could do that?" wouldn't do it ow but pool maybe not that I could be in the pool that long as it's not allowed atm still haha |
