Well done Phil hope you’re soon back out more often. I crossed the 700m mark on Saturday a number I chased for many years foot seems to be doing ok (touch wood) struggling with a bunion on my right foot & seriously considering speaking to a doctor about surgery. I can’t get shoes that don’t rub and I am struggling. I wonder if that has played a part in the left foot issues if I’ve being compensating for it. |

GG, I think you should get that bunion dealt with. It's possible that you have indeed been favouring the other foot, and if that continues you could have a significant injury.

What a numpty I am. I ran 6 miles this morning for the virtual Blaydon Race, but forgot to change my Garmin to miles from km. Never mind I thought - just run 9.6km, which I did. But I must have pressed stop rather than lap at 9km so my route trace and race log is 400m short! Not so bothered from my 500 miles target, but I hope Fetchies will trust that I did run the distance. I ran the length of Longsands and turned back to make sure! |

Oh scribbler what a pain. I know you wouldn’t short the distance you probably did more in the end! Well done. Ev I’ve spoken to doctors today they are referring me to make initial enquiries having to explain I don’t do support shoes/orthotics that in the past I’ve tried and it’s undone all the work I’ve done & that barefoot/minimalist running is possible if you train right so we’ll see. |

I should have just run 10k and been done with it, but I was anxious about getting back home and having a shower before an 8am meeting. I'm sure I won't be troubling the Blaydon race results with a fastest finisher time

Managed just over nine miles last week and then a quick two plus miles at lunchtime on Thursday before self-isolating. Off for a hospital procedure tomorrow which suggests no exertion or exercise for seven days. Annoying but necessary I suppose. It just means that I am unlikely to manage an ideal long run before the Brighton Marathon in September. |

Wishing you all the best tomorrow SurreyPhil a good recovery is more important. If you’re doing Brighton just chill and enjoy the run - no pressure. Take care & recover strong.
