I doubt if there is anyone around that remembers me. I used to be on here an awful lot.
I joined back in 2007 when I started running at the ripe old age of 42.
Got stuck in the cycle of running too much, getting injured, recovering and then running too much again.
Gave up....started again in 2012. Got injured, got fat and lost my mojo.
So, I have just turned 52 and want to start doing some running again.
I suppose my primary objective is to shift some of my (ample) belly and moobs. The truth is....I really have missed it.
So...for the time being at least...I am back.
Tomorrow, i start the C25k programme.
Wish me luck :)

Thank you for your positive thoughts :)

I will be heading out the door shortly. i am both excited and nervous at the same time.

Getting my (rather hefty) kit bag out last night was quite an emotional experience. In the bag I found various relics from races past: my New Forest Marathon T-shirt; my old running club vest; various straps and supports that used to hold me together and a gel that must be about 8 years old!

Here goes for day 1- if I am not back in 30 minutes, call an ambulance!

Listen to your body.
Enjoy it when it feels good.
Take it easy when it doesn't.
Getting injured is a sure way to screw up your chances.
Don't chase past glories, revel in the now.

You shouldn't need straps and supports, build slowly and injury free is possible for the long term*. :-)

*Of course, falling into a ditch in the dark kind of injury is always possible. It's just most injuries come from chasing too far/fast/soon.
