Ran day 313 with Ben today :-)
Gave him a day to remember with river crossing, mud, field full of cows and bulls, electric fence when trying to avoid cows and bulls, rescuing an injured baby deer from side of main road, and of course lots of rain ;-)
What an amazing guy !!

Wow K5 Gus, that's a memorable run! I bumped in to Ben yesterday while I was walking the whw with my son, we were coming down the hill towards Glencoe ski centre and he was running up with my pal Alan Cormack and friends. It was really good to see him again

Saw your photos with him mrs shanski on his Facebbok page :-)

He can certainly pack away his food ! At lunch, halfway through our run he had a fresh baked pizza, a basket of spicy chicken wings and a big plate of chips ( plus diet irn bru of course ) ! No idea how he managed to run the second half after all that !! He reckons he needs 6000 calaroies a day, all proper food, no gels

Yes he had a LOT of food for lunch when he ran with us in Stoney, and he had a Crabbies!

Well done K5 Gus. What happened with the river crossing - get lost? :-)

Heading up to The Lakes next week to run around Windermere with Ben and then a bit more around Grange-Over-Sands (aka Newby Bridge). Looking forward to some nice lunches.

Nightjar, I hope you're heading to The Lakes the week after next, not next week, as Ben isn't in the Lakes until 26th-29th!

Assuming you were just getting ahead of yourself (;-)) I hope to see you at Brathay Hall on the morning of Thursday 28th as work permitting I'm also planning on running with Ben that day

Let's support Ben Smith who is running "...401 marathons in 401 consecutive days around 309 different locations of the UK. The aim is to raise £250,000 for two fantastic charities, ‘Stonewall’ and ‘Kidscape’. Both these charities work tirelessly to combat bullying in our schools and society."

This is a staggering commitment - no injuries or days off feeling poorly are allowed. He is a lovely chap, a joy to run with, and he'll run at anyone's pace. He has already inspired many people to run their first marathon with him.
