I snuck under 4:30 at Windermere this year having been doing 2:10-2:15 half times in training which had nothing longer than 13-14 miles but one a week mostly. Did a 2:09 race a month before too were i was actually trying. Suspect my actual half time was nearer to 2:05 at the time but when i had a go at that pace 2 weeks after Windermere it was a warmish day so went a bit wrong shall we say.

I also was expecting to be that fast and think i benefited from the way the start was done with staggered times not sorted by speed so there was always someone going faster than me to chase.

Got something to say?
