Ah right. Well good luck with the recovery daviec.

I looked at your profile pdavey. You aiming for a sub 2 min 800 this year? If so, then perhaps doing a marathon in a couple of weeks wont help!

I reckon I will attempt my first run tomorrow. This would be exactly 4 weeks after sustaining the injury. Hopefully no pain!

I'm just doing it for the experience, I was offered a place through my club and couldn't really turn it down. Back to the speedwork once it's out the way.

*delurks* Sub 37 is an aspirational target for me, currently carrying a slight injury to my knee, but doing Salford 10k tomorrow anyway. Once this month is over and I've recovered it'll be nice to get some speed back and threaten this time... I'll be lurking hoping to pick up tips...

Did my first run today. Exactly 4 weeks since i picked up injury. Relieved to say it was painless. As expected I am miles out of shape. Hopefully I can regain my endurance soon enough and focus on the track season. I need the speed work asap!

Seems marathon training has had more effect than I thought. 36.29 and 111 seconds off my PB. So happy on the finish line that the number checker gave me a spot prize - great day all round.

I'm Garmin-less at the moment, so I have no splits. At 4k I was overtaken by 3rd lady, and one of her supporters shouted that we were on sub36 papers.

To be honest, I think if I'd been wearing a watch I'd have slowed down...

Hi guys,

Yeovil 10k today, decided on the morning, as a guy I met at a BBQ good Friday offered me a lift.no training, ran fast first half and suffered the rest! Ran my fastest split ever in first mile (5:55) ave pace 6:13.which gave me 38:46. I just ran out of breath, does that mean more long slow runs for me? Help.

Build up some speed endurance. Long runs, plus sub LT runs then build in some tempo when the sub LT starts to feel easy.
