You probably wouldn't want to wear it in front of the fire in case it caught alight. You'd go up like a torch.

Stash it in boot of the car as an emergency fleece, along with emergency almost shagged nikes in case I get to a race without runners, emergency longs in case I misjudged the weather, emergency photocopy UKA card...

When faced with a real emergency, panic usually works :)
