Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well done on the PB emdee, not least as you appeared to start the event on the pier and ran the first half mile through the surf, very impressive!

Did anyone actually do Portsmouth last year and have a well written personal account of the course?

this might not meet the "well written" stipulation, but http://www.fetcheveryone.com/blog_other.php?id=18987&y=2010&m=12#228462

I did it, though haven't written anything up on it, would echo Emdee's comments. It's dead flat (my Garmin had 33' ascent in total), there is probably half a mile of beach perhaps where you couldn't run flat out, otherwise it's wide paths, pavements or roads, all very good surfaces. It's probably not an out and out PB route because of the beach, road crossings, pedestrians, etc etc but it's very quick...

Of course, the weather could play a factor - for mid december it was mild, dry and still last year. The wind there can be a bugger, and that could make it a very different race.

Entry forms are now available for the Andover Track Marathon on Saturday 17-December:
tzruns.com

Just thirty places available. Free entry possible (see form) and the coolest possible event t-shirt available to buy.

Why not double with Portsmouth on 18-Dec and also come to Andover and run the parkrun at 09:00am, then the marathon at 10:00am (both at the same venue)?

You know you want to...

If I wasn't looking after the kids for the whole weekend....

On second thoughts I'd much rather be looking after the kids :-) Can't see me ever running a track mara!

A track race is about as certain to happen as any.......if of course you can get there in the first place.
