I like doing fast marathons but also do lots of track races also as the variety is good and the speed from the track keeps the marathons strong.
I do prefer to get the races done quickly but I think no matter what speed you can run at then if you want to get to the 100 marathon club and complete 100 marathons then you have the right to enter the aforementioned club.
I would wear the vest at a Parkrun just to pysch out the competition

Quite right angelis - running 100 marathons is an awesome achievement and demands enormous commitment, time and money.
When I get there I will wear the vest with pride.

When i started doing this run of marathons in 2006 i had no idea i would do so many. At first all i set out to do was 12 in 12 months( yeah i know .) I ended up doing 16 that year. I enjoyed myself so much i thought i would try to reach 50 before my 50th birthday. the only reason i started doing back to back marathons was so that i could carry on with a conversation i was having with an "old dude" There are some amazing characters about as you all know. Now i have become addicted to it.
I went to my doctor for some advice because i thought i was going nuts and all he said was " The Ridgeway is nice place to run" On flat courses i try to get under 3:30 but off road i don't care about my time so much. The bottom line is running long distances makes me feel " good". When i reach 100 marathons i will be proud to join a club full of people who are as " good" as me.
running marathons/ultras makes me feel Great.
I did not know of the 100 marathon club

My inspiration for trying to get to the 100 really started when I was lucky enough to run with three members of the 100MC club for a little way, before that moment I'd never had the slightest grasp that anyone could ever do so many! 100?? Absolutely ridiculous! They were grey and old, and frankly looked rather the worse for wear at about mile 23 but they happily chatted away for a while before leaving me behind! Try as I might I couldn't catch them and I thought, well, if they can do it, why can't I?
