Anybody else trying for this? I've managed just over 750 this year and see this as my next challenge. I'm also going to try and run 20 races in the year as well. Does anyone know if there's a group for 1,000 miles in 2014?

I'm going for it! I've been really inconsistent this year, but hopefully training for the Brighton Half and Brighton Marathon will help get the me off to a good start.

This is my target for the new year, although to be brutally honest its my target each year and I have never managed it yet. I always seem to have one part of the year when my running goes off the rails and sort of ruins most of my plans. Im determined that this year will be different.

This is my target for next year. I've broken 750 this year also, but I will be running two marathons in 2014 so, assuming injuries are not a problem, 1000 miles should be an achievable target.

16 to go... I sway between wanting to get it and just feeling happy to be this close!

I've just set up a group, but not sure how to link to this forum so may need a little help! Will post this on the 1,000 in 2013 too.

I'm in! I stared running in April, and have clocked up 521 miles in 2013, including 2 injury breaks :(. 1000 mikes is an average of around 20 a week, and with building up for VLM, I should be way ahead of that for the first 3 months, giving me a bit of leeway later in the year.

Do I need to wait till 1st Jan to change my target?

I've only done 650 miles this year. Until now, injury has always stopped me from training consistently. However, I need to drastically increase my base mileage to do two ultras planned for 2014 justice, so joining this group might be a good incentive to keep plugging at it. Thanks for setting this up, CB-1964!

Weekatiepea, go for it! Hogmanay will be even better. :-)

(PerfectOrganism, I'm glad to see your handle is still the same. :-))
