D'oh. Well spotted Nelly, I got it into my head that 964,334 was last year's last finisher. Nightjar: Gun, surely. The 35,667th person to cross the finishing line is the 1,000,000th person to finish the VLM regardless of their time. The 1,000,000th person to finish the VLM by chip time will almost certainly be someone from a previous year. |

How about this? You get a friend to stand at the finish and count in the finishers. The friend phones you and gives you a running update so you know when to finish. If it's a blanket finish, you get other friends to obstruct your rivals so you have a clear run for that 1,000,000th place ;-). |

The friend has a click counter If the friend gets it wrong, the forfeit is to run 1,000,000 marathons. I might be kind and let them get away with 1,000,000 miles instead :-o. This sounds like something Binks might think up :-p! |

I was thinking the same, Bazoaxe. I am effectively four in a million, so It would be nice to have one t-shirt with all of them (2003, 2005, 2008, 2013). I have no intention of buying four different shirts and getting just one doesn't reflect the other three.

actually.....they cannotknow what number the mens winner will be because an unknown number of womens elites will finish ahead of the first man, as will wheelchairs and also IPC runnersif they have that this year

Phil & Bazoaxe: Just get one with the number from your first LM on it, then get a sports shop to print the rest of your numbers in smaller letters underneath, or wherever there's space.
