Option to hide everyone who has exceeded their target in a league table
Comments
Mark J says: Good idea but I think there should be a fairly high over threshold as , for example, I will do a lot more running and cycling at different time of the year, so I may well be well over for a couple of months but then back under before you know it.
LindsD says: Not the running (ongoing) target, the final target for the year.
Serendippily says: Zactly and as a toggle rather than a blacklist please
Snoot says: With the toggle sounds good
Serendippily says: And cut off being above target that will add to challenge: you have to run 700 exactly to top the table briefly :-)
Daddy Kong says: And/or perhaps the option to sort the league table on % up / down as well as just total distance, so -15% actually gets you closer to the top than +187%
Drell says: I agree that the people who've done 150% of the annual target by july shouldn't count. They set the wrong target :-)
ZenTaoPlurp says: Brilliant idea. An added feature could be to cast them into the pits of hell for blocking the top and stopping earnest runners from moving up the table.
Badger says: I like this idea. Why vote no? It isn't terribly complicated & you don't have to use it, after all.
um says: I voted no because I think it needs a bit more thought & definition. Opting to see no-one over the target means you never reach the top?
um says: I voted no because I think it needs a bit more thought & definition. Opting to see no-one over the target means you never reach the top?
um says: Maybe, for groups like the 700, better to have an opt-in league table, so it can be monitored & controlled, and we all know & agree to the 'hit the top and move on after a few hours/days of glory?'
alpenrose says: KISS - the best things are the simplest, why try to make it complicated?
Badger says: Good points, um, but if you’d just voted no & not commented, we wouldn’t have known :)
photoset says: there perhaps needs to be a delay as most people like to see themselves on top for a day, and are then generally happy to reset, its those that never reset and sit on top for over 6 months of the year
Cheekys Dad says: Great idea! I love the idea of a toggle. If that meant you could switch between the original target and a “Hall of Fame” for those who have gone above and beyond. Then the high mileage types could continue to stay with the group and keep their friendl

Option to purchase & place a toll booth. Either fixed penalty or a % of flowers picked on the ride. Max 1 toll booth per player (only available if density=0 (no traffic lights)). Could regular commuters purchase a season ticket?
Comments
chunkywizard says: is this fair being only allowed if density=0? I believe the game is consider to be balanced at the moment independantly of density, could this skew the game if favour of density=0?
Vancouver Jogger says: If you have density=0 you never get access to any traffic lights
Bright Strider says: I think that the presence of traffic lights is more to do with activity than the number of residents.
Vancouver Jogger says: I don't think that's right BrightStrider

Bright Strider says: I see why you'd think that Vancouver Jogger, but my circle has six traffic lights even though my density is zero.

JCB says: Density 0 is not the same as not having anyone nearby. Having someone a little ways away then enables traffic lights to show up (I’ve tested). No activities need to be logged by nearby neighbour.

JCB Dec 15

Comments
Nightjar says: Indeed. I'd suggest anything over a mile would differentiate a wlak around the block (0.87 miles around our office) from a more serious effort.
Serendippily says: I’d support this too in fact if a walk or run or cycle was under 2 squares it could be subject to downgrading unless it’s at the edge so it doesn’t matter if some people’s tech marks walks as runs
chunkywizard says: I think a walk is a walk, no matter how long, but as it takes longer than running I don't know why it should count less.
JCB says: Yes, chunkywizard. I agree. I’ve mentioned in the past about walking a certain distance taking longer than a run (and much more than a bike ride). And interestingly from calorie usage walking and running a certain distance takes roughly the same number.
