This December 15th, we're planning to collect a bunch of food for our local foodbank. It's a Saturday, so we're asking our local parkrunners to bring along a few items each, and our plan is to drive them all to the foodbank depot afterwards.
We'd love it if you'd consider taking on this challenge, even if it's only donating a few items to your supermarket collection point next time you shop. And if you can go large, and get more people involved, all the better.
Sadly, there are foodbanks in most towns in the UK. For a whole host of reasons, good people sometimes find themselves in a dire situation and in need of a little helping hand. Redundancy, illness, unexpected bills, benefit cuts - misfortunes that can hit any of us at any time, and can make the difference between eating or not.
It'd be great if you can get involved. It'll be one of our challenges in next month's Festive Fetch Calendar, so this is just a heads up to give you time to do your best. Leave a comment below and let us know your plans. Thanks!
