Glossopdale Harriers is a well established and friendly athletics club based in the old market town of Glossop in the High Peak District of North West Derbyshire.
Glossop is surrounded by hills and in the summer months most of us like to concentrate our efforts on getting up onto the edges and high moors of Bleaklow, Shelf Moor, Kinder, Glossop Low and the Nab to name a few. We fully appreciate that fell running is not everyone's idea of good fun and many of the club also take part in road running and cross-country.
As an athletics club we stage a number of local races; including The Herod Farm race and the Shelf Moor race. The Shelf Moor race has in the past been included as a counter in the Fell Running English Championships. This is our way of putting back something into the sport in return for all the pleasure we get out of it.
If you are interested in training or racing, or are interested in membership, please have a look at the more club info page on our website, or ring or email any one of the club contacts listed on the website. Alternatively just come along to one of club training runs at 7pm every Tuesday or Thursday evening at the Glossop Leisure Centre.
