Oscar's Everyone Day

23rd June 2024
In 2021 Oscar the Grouch proposed one day each year where "we unite as a community and EVERYONE records an activity of some sort - a dog walk, a run, a swim, a ride, ski if you want...".

Sadly we lost Oscar in March, so I'd like to dedicate Everyone Day to him. Thank you for the inspiration you gave us Oscar.

Baza Enjoyed the run, over what I thought was a good but testing course. Ran 2nd leg for the 'B' team, so was able to chase people down. I think I caught and passed 18 folk in total going by the resutls. Time was nearly 2 minutes quicker than last year, so was quite pleased. Carnegie Harriers 14:11 15:57 63.89
cake muncher Wasn't doing this up until the previous night. Glad I changed my mind. Nice and steady, felt much better than at the East XC Relays. Falkland Trail Runners 12:47 13:32 15:16 71.22
ClaireT Enjoyed running 2nd leg for a change, chasing after people, rather than going off first. Managed to overtake 7 girls and our team was 7th overall. My time was surprising though, 4s slower than the same course last year....I assumed I would have improved since then but obviously not :( Victoria Park - City of Glasgow AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 13:54 17:17 17:41 65.79

hannkies Did first leg and put myself in the B Team, but didn't have a great race. Wasn't sure if I was running till 7pm last night and as such didn't taper and did a Thursday sesh, but that wouldn't have made a massive difference I don't suppose. Course best ( and it's a pretty tough course ) by 40 seconds, and respectable enough but would really hope and expect to be doing a wee bit better. Had a HUGE sprint finish which is probably the proof in the pudding I may have been a tad conservative early doors... Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 13:40 15:33 15:28 68.77

Plussing As Which Went off first which I enjoyed as I picked up a good few places during the 2nd half as it really felt like a race. Had good tussle to finish with Edinburgh AC girl - got there first! Over 45 secs faster than last year in tougher conditions - that wind was dreadful! However, I think there was less mud! Fab, Jud and I got 3rd Vet team medals which was a surprise reward for a good day out! Unaffiliated 17:31 16:43 70.04

toepointer Ugh, cross country, very hard course. 30th. team, good to get a team out. 1.15 slower than last year, on a less muddy day everyone else seems to have been faster. Lasswade AC 16:53 19:16 20:21 57.39
