I have black pudding, a red pepper, some leftover cooked actually-it's-pronounced-KEEN-wah, 1.5kg of strong cheese, and lots of packets, tins and jars.

Ready, steady, COOK :)

I don't mind quinoa. The "it's a good source of protein, you know" grinds my gears - it's mostly carbohydrate and, like most grains and grain-like substances, it's a shite source of protein - and it tastes blah, but I like the way the grains make little Saturn shapes when it's cooked.

I think I'm going to chop up the black pudding (which is an interesting local product with no added fat), fry it with the red pepper, add the leftovers of a can of cannellini beans and a jar of tomato sauce, and stir in the quinoa at the end. And melt grated cheese over the top.

Or maybe I'll send one of the kids up to the chippy :)

Quinoa - I love the Saturn thing too 'Rap. I use it like you would rice sometimes, usually with vegan winter stews. Sometimes make a salad.

Anyway - I've come on here to ask for some inspiration. My main is sorted and will be Chinese. I bought some offer cooked prawns and want to have them for a starter. Any ideas? I want to have them cold but have no mayonnaise.

Cheers.
