Microsoft has determined that when you click on an Internet Explorer back button, the authentication service, (ADFS), re-sends the request to a destination (ADFS) server and then the request fails.

Why does this happen? Because the system sees that action as a "Log Out" action and your authentication (ADFS) session is considered finished. Reloading it causes the error.
***According to Microsoft’s design, the system is built this way for security purposes.
Apologies; Microsoft designed the system to work this way. There is no work-around available.

No but I'd expect the person we have paid, to design an application with a navigation button within it. And the techies to translate the explanation rather than send that kind of "feature explanation" to 30000 people and expect them to understand it.
